　　SSAT阅读部分文章题材包括科普/人物/历史类、诗歌类、小说类及其他。

　　1、诗歌类型。诗歌分类很多，学生需要把常考诗歌类型，以及每一种类型的特点掌握明白。

　　2、象征。诗歌中象征的使用是很普遍的，并且可以帮助读者理解诗歌的情感，常见的象征是学生们平时学习和积累的重点。

　　抓细节

　　在解读诗歌的过程中，有些细节抓取对于理解诗歌至关重要。修辞和意象就是非常重要的两个方面。

　　修辞手法

　　经常考察的有以下几种：

　　1.similie；metaphor；personification

　　2.alliteration

　　3.pun

　　4.contrast

　　5.hyperbole/exaggeration/over-statement

　　6.allusion

　　7.irony

　　意象

　　在中文诗歌中，“床前明月光，疑似地上霜”是大家最耳熟能详的，“月光”、“霜”都是意象，用来帮助诗人向读者传递忧伤孤寂的思乡之情。英文诗歌同样如此，诗人往往借助不同风格的意象传递不同状态的情绪。

　　以William Blake所作“The Echoing Green”为例

　　The sun does arise

　　And make happy the skies

　　The merry bells ring

　　To welcome the spring

　　The skylark and thrush,

　　The birds of the bush,

　　Sing louder around

　　To the bell’s cheerful sound;

　　While our sports shall be seen

　　On the echoing green.

　　在第一诗节内，“the sun”、“the merry bell”、“the spring”、“the skylark”、“the thrush”这些都是意象，一片春意盎然、生机勃勃，表现一段轻松欢愉的春天时光。这些意象与诗歌主题、诗人情感完全吻合。抓住这些意象，对于理解诗歌主题、作者情感大有裨益。

　　忠于原文

　　这一点尤其需要强调，正是由于诗歌的发散性和主观性强，在答题的时候，忠于原文就显得尤为重要。

　　我们仍然以William Blake的作品“The Echoing Green”为例

　　The sun does arise

　　And make happy the skies

　　The merry bells ring

　　To welcome the spring

　　The skylark and thrush,

　　The birds of the bush,

　　Sing louder around

　　To the bell’s cheerful sound;

　　While our sports shall be seen

　　On the echoing green.
