　　ACT写作部分是选作部分，通常位于考试的最后，改革后考试时间为40分钟，要求写一篇作文。因此建议中国考生考试在参加ACT考试时加试写作，因为几乎所有美国名牌大学在接受ACT申请时都要求提交写作成绩。

　　When new towns areplanned, it is more important to develop public parks or sports facilities thanshopping centers for people to spend their free time in. To what extent do youagree or disagree?

　　思路：

　　agreeor disagree的题目，立场鲜明，不要模棱两可。

　　论证可以一边倒，也可以双边论证，但这道题目的观点中明确了2种对立的内容，购物中心和公园健身房，就要两边的好处都要写到，自己支持的一边内容好处讲得更充分。

　　Ithas long been a controversy whether we need more parks and sports centers orshopping malls in our cities. To me, I tend to vote for the former twofacilities when considering their comprehensive benefits to the public health.

　　Superficially,it is department stores that might be attractive to some people, especially theyounger generation. To them, more shopping centers means increasing convenience,which not just provides a wider variety of commodities but also saves them muchtime in searching for different products. This is particularly important to thosebusy working adults in a fast-paced modern life. Apart from urban dwellers,shopping centers are usually reckoned as a tourism attraction for travelers,especially for those from developing countries. A convincing example is thosesuper shopping malls in Paris and New York, which absorb millions of dollars tothe local tourism every year.

　　However,I would say that it is the parks and sports facilities that deserve morepriority in development of new towns. While shopping centers are more like aparadise for youngsters, it is the public parks that is suitable for people ofall ages and various interests to spend leisure time, from jogging to fishing,camping to painting. It provides a precious opportunity for each individualliving in concrete jungles to relieve themselves in nature, which is beneficialto their mental health.

　　Also,more sports facilities will make it easy for people to do more exercise, whichin turn will increases the physical fitness of the public, thus simulating an activelifestyle for those who are collapsing in front of computers.

　　Tosum up, attractive though shopping centers are, I would reiterate that it ispublic parks and athletic facilities that is conducive to the health of themasses.
