AEIS写作攻略：大词难词能保证作文高分？

　　在备考AEIS作文时，很多时候我们要求背单词扩大词汇量，确实要写出漂亮的英文作文，背单词是必须，只是在背单词的时候可以调整方向。准备过程切忌追求难词大词，以免对于词汇用法掌握不全面。

　　不要过于执着的追求长难词汇，尝试去挖掘一些常见词汇的灵活用法。在英语地道表达中，人们喜欢将名词作动词用，形容词作动词等。

　　来看一个例子：

　　Eg. Club [klʌb] n. 俱乐部，社团；夜总会；棍棒

　　这是我们最常见club的用法，用作名词。 但是，学生不知道，其实club可以用作动词，表示募集，聚集：Students clubbed together to buy their professor a present.

　　再看一个例子：

　　Eg. Peacock ['piːkɒk] n. 孔雀；雄孔雀

　　殊不知，用作名词peacock有爱慕虚荣的人；该词还可以用作不及物动词，表炫耀

　　相当于show off： Shallow men always like to peacock themselves.

　　避免太多口语化词汇，太模棱两可的词汇

　　例如，考生在AEIS写作开头段写背景句的时候，经常用到more and more来表示越来越多。如果可以改作increasing或an increasing number of，虽然词汇并不高级，但是避免了开口就来的more and more。 其他类似口语词汇的还有 lots of, make/ let（使）， like, be good/bad for, bring many benefits等

　　Numerous，sufficient, abundant

　　Develop interest in

　　Be beneficial to

　　Impose/exert positive/negative effects/influence on.

　　积累地道表达和搭配，特别是作文常见话题的词汇。

　　这些词汇考生可以通过大量阅读外文杂志或资料获取，也可以寻找分类词汇书记忆背诵。

　　以教育类为例：

　　Moral education

　　Development and cultivation

　　Full-time school

　　Part-time school

　　Higher education

　　Compulsory courses

　　Optional courses

　　Mixed-sex school

　　Academic achievement

　　Academic performance

　　Self-discipline
