　　长难句分析

　　语法讲解：15-year-old

　　15-year-old本来是一个由数词、名词和形容词构成的复合形容词。

　　如果不加连字符，就可以还原成句子中的一个表语结构，但要注意year一词的单复数变化：The child is 15yearsold。

　　复数名词在参与构成复合形容词时，一般变为单数，再如：

　　The trip takes twohours. → This is a two-hourtrip.

　　而在原句中，year没有加s，old后却加了s。这是因为形容词用作了名词，表示一类人，就像the poor, the old一样，但是此处不需要加定冠词。如果要说“一个十五岁的孩子”，也可以直接加不定冠词来表示，即a 15-year-old。
