每日练习UKiset阅读精读素材讲解（二）

　　阅读是UKiset考试四科中相对简单的处分的科目，但还是有些小伙伴们觉得阅读做不完，很多长难句看不懂。大家其实都知道问题原因出在语法（句子结构分析）和词汇量上。但除了语法、词汇，还有一个很重要、却容易被忽略的点，就是文章中所使用的词汇搭配。下面就和小编一起看看今天的阅读素材练习吧。

　　段落一

　　Ecotourismis often regarded asa form ofnature-based tourism and has become an importantalternativesource of tourists.

　　Be regarded as：被认为是...，regard做动词是“认为”的意思。例句：The job of chairman can no longer be regarded as a convenient soft option. 别再以为董事长这份工作是那么容易做到的。

　　A form of ：...的一种形式，例句：Gambling is a form of entertainment. 赌博是一种娱乐。

　　Alternative：在英语中较为常用，表示备选的，它的词根是alter，意思为“其他的”。例句：New ways to treat arthritis may provide an alternative to painkillers. 关节炎的新疗法可能是止痛药之外的另一种选择。

　　In addition toproviding the traditional resort-leisure product,it has been argued thatecotourism resort management shouldhave a particular focus onbest-practice environmental management, an educational and interpretive component, and direct and indirectcontributions totheconservationof the natural and cultural environment (Ayala, 1996).

　　In addition to：除此之外的意思，add是增加，addition是其名词形式。例句：In addition to my weekly wage, I got a lot of tips. 除了每周的薪水外，我还能得到不少。

　　It has been argued that…句型在英文正式文体中很常见，等同于some people argue that…, 一些人争论道。。。例句：Therefore it is argued that this is discrimination against people with physically deteriorating illnesses. 因此人们争论说这是对那些患有身体状况不断恶化疾病的人们的歧视。

　　Have a focus on sth和常用的focus on是一个意思，表达“专注于”，可以与concentrate on进行替换。例句：Twitter users have a clear focus on current affairs推特的用户对于时事表现出明显的关注。

　　Contribution to对。。。做出的贡献，对应的动词搭配有contribute to.例句：I believe that each of us can contribute to the future of the world. 我相信我们每一个人都能够对世界的未来有所贡献。

　　Conserve可以和preserve进行替换，表示“保护”的意思。Conserve的是serve有保留的意思。例句：The republic’s factories have closed for the weekend to conserve energy. 为了节约能源，该共和国的工厂周末不开工。

As the world’s population becomes increasinglyurbanized, the demand for tourist attractions which are environmentally friendly, serene and offeramenitiesof a unique nature has grown rapidly.

　　Integrated：in往里面，gra走。往里面走，就是融合的意思。例句：He didn’t integrate successfully into the Italian way of life.他没有顺利地融入到意大利的生活方式中。a large integrated ecotourism-based resort located south, located 是过去分词做后置定语修饰resort，翻译为“坐落于南边的度假胜地”。

　　Increasingly表示“越来越。。。”，可以和more and more替换。例句：He was finding it increasingly difficult to make decisions. 他发现越来越难以做出决定。

　　Couran Cove Resort,which is one such tourist attractions, is located on South Strabroke Island, occupyingapproximately150 hectares of the island. South Stradbroke Island is separated from the mainland by the Broadwater,a stretch ofsea 2 kilometers wide. More than a century ago, there was only one Stradbroke Island, and there were at least fourAboriginal tribesliving and hunting as tuberculosis, smallpox and influenza by the end of the 19thcentury.

　　Which is one such tourist attractions做插入语，完整的句子是Couran Cove Resort is located on ...，occupying是现在分词表状态做伴随状语，occupy本来是“占领”的意思，这里表示“面积达。。。”，现在分词表伴随的动作和状态在英文中很常见，例句：Looking at the picture, I couldn’t help missing those old school days. 看着这个照片，我忍不住回想起在学校的那些旧时光。

　　A stretch of表示一片。。。， 原文可以翻译成“一片2 前米宽的海”。Stretch同样也可以表示一段时间：例句：She used to read for hours at a stretch. 她以前看书常常连看几小时。

　　Aboriginal tribes是指原始部落。Aboriginal的词根是ori-,是起源的意思。Original代表原始的。例句：I think you should go back to your original plan.我认为你应该回头执行你原来的计划。

　　The second ship wrecked on the island in 1894, and thesubsequentdestruction of the ship (the Cambus Wallace) because it contained the weakened land form and Sradbroke became two islands. Couran Cove Island Resort is built on one of the world’s fewnaturally-occurringsand lands, which is home to a wide range of plant communitiesmangroveand rainforest left on the Gold Coast. Many have been cleared,drainedor filled for residential, industrial, agricultural or urban development in the first half of the 20thcentury. Farmers and glaziers finally abandoned South Stradbroke Island in 1939 because the vegetation and the soil conditions there were not suitable for agricultural activities.

　　Subsequent：接下来发生的。sub表示under， sequ-表示follow.例句：Those concerns were overshadowed by subsequent events. 随后发生的事使之前所关注的那些问题显得无足轻重。

　　Naturally-occurring表示“天然存在的”，英语中类似这样的带有连字符的单词较为常见。比如hard-working, eight-year-old. Which is home to…表示。。。是。。。的家。

　　A wide range of指的是”各式各样的，广泛的。Range表示类别的意思。例句：A wide range of colours and patterns are available. 各种颜色和样式都有。
