关于留学推荐信的几点小建议

　　申请留学需要准备推荐信，不同的学校要求的推荐信数量不等。出国留学，一般推荐信要求2-3封。

　　推荐信是招生官想用他人的侧面角度来判断申请学生的重要途径。通过一篇介绍信给招生官留下一个深刻而良好的个人形象是申请留学过程中的一个重要步骤。

　　芝加哥大学的推荐信指导中有这么一段话：

　　“推荐信应描述你的学历，智力和作为学生的优势。这包括求知欲，研究和写作能力，分析能力，动机，职业道德，以及批判性思考和挑战自我的能力。个人特征，如成熟度，专业性，领导潜力以及与他人合作的能力也是相关的。一封好的推荐信推荐人会对你作为学生的能力进行实际性地讨论，比如举出你的研究项目，论文以及工作的例子，与同龄人的对比和轶事说明会非常有帮助。”

　　推荐信内容常见误区及建议

　　误区一：内容重复

　　一般大学研究生的申请，要求2-3封推荐信。有些同学就去找了自己大一大二大三的导师各写一封，介绍自己不同阶段的不同项目。或者是一封找课程导师写，另外一封找实验室教授写。

　　但在这些导师的推荐信当中，却反反复复描述着相似的内容，比如关于你对学术的热爱，课程上的成绩等。

　　建议：

　　在找推荐导师之前仔细考虑想让申请学校看到的自己的特性。要知道，申请最重要的过程是“了解自己” 。了解自己应该被推荐的能力，从而找相关的推荐人。

　　误区二：夸大其词

　　推荐信中，让别人感觉推荐人和你关系好到你的一切他都知道。这样就感觉不是那么真实。例如：不是这个导师或者教授带你的项目，却在推荐信中却写出来你参加过的所有项目，像是翻译工具一样。

　　建议：

　　用客观的角度进行描述，依据只是发生在你们之间的事实来表达的。

　　误区三：内容冗长不简练

　　推荐信长度一般为半页到一页之间， 只有特别熟悉、特别推荐时才有可能达到两页 。写长句子凸显自己英文水平高，写作高大上。在英文写作中，大家普遍有一个这样的误区，认为句子越长，从句越多，表明我的语法高超，写作水平higher level。其实不是。

　　在英文写作中，有一个TWO-LINE RULE (两行法则)也就是说你写的句子不要超过(word打开时候默认设置)的两行，超过的话，你就把长句子断开，变成两个有逻辑联系的短句子。

　　建议：

　　切勿从句套从句，把句子断开，写作精简干练，表达逻辑思维清晰。
