AEIS备考：unless/ as soon as/so that技巧辨析

　　AEIS英语是一种逻辑性极强的语言，故使用连接词的机率比汉语要大得多，考生需熟练掌握连接代词、连接副词、并列连词、从属连词及一部分副词或词组的意义及用法。unless, as soon as, so.……that……；so that 这几个连接词，试卷上隔山差五会出现，学者也容易混淆，现在把它们的用法简单的整理如下：

　　unless是连词，意为“ 除非；如果不 ”，引导条件状语从句，含有否定意义，相当于“if …… not”。注意：unless引导条件状语从句时，如果主句是一般将来时， 从句用一般现在时态表将来。

　　如：We'll go to the concertunlessit doesn't rain.

　　=We'll go to the concertifitdoesn'train.

　　如果天不下雨，我们将去音乐会。

　　练习：You will succeed in the end _____ you give up halfway. （D）

　　A. even if B. as though C. as long as D. unless

　　2.as soon as是连词词组，引导时间状语从句，意为“一……就……”。

　　as soon as引导的时间状语从句中，若主句是一般将来时，从句用一般现在时表将来。

　　如：My brother will look for a jobas soon asheleaves(leave) school.

　　__________ the prince saw her, he fell in love with her. (B)

　　A. Even if B. As soon as C. As long as D. unless

　　3.so …… that表示“如此……以至于……”，常用于引导结果状语从句。常见结构为：

　　1)“so +形容词/副词+ that从句”或

　　2)“so +形容词+ a / an +单数名词+ that从句”。

　　如：He wassoexcitedthathe couldn’t say a word.

　　It issointeresting a bookthatmany people want to buy it.

　　练习：She was ___ busy ____ she had no time to make a dress for the party. (c)

　　A. too……to…… B. enough……to…… C so……that D. such……that……

　　注意：so … that … 不等于 so that；

　　so that 意为“ 以致；结果；以便 ”引导目的状语从句，相当于”in order that"

　　e.g. 我想早点起床以便有时间吃上早餐。

　　I want to get up earlyso thatI can have time for breakfast.
