　　primarily

Many in-home jobs that used to be done primarily by women-ranging fromfamily shopping to preparing meals to doing voluntary work-still need to be done bysomeone.

本句的主干是many in-home jobs need to be done。

　　range意为“归类于;延伸”，常用在短语range from...to...之中。如:

　　1) The children's ages range from 8 to 15.

　　2) The frontier ranges from the northern hills to the southern coast.

　　1) This building was primarily intended to be a dinning hall.

2)Most linguists would say they were concerned primarily with the structure of languages.

　　除了primarily以外，表示“首先”的副词或短语还有:in the first place, at first,first of all等。

It is not a good idea. For one thing, nobody will help us.
