雅思口语|一张嘴就错的口语常用词

　　最近很多小伙伴在咨询想要各种备考技巧，课窝网也在全力搜索各种“大法”，囤了一堆干货，希望能帮到大家。在口语中，很多考试都会犯词汇方面的错误：表达不符合native speakers的使用习惯，或者一些所谓的“高级词汇”用在错的语境中。今天小编为大家盘点那些一说就错的雅思口语常用词！

　　1.live / stay

　　考生们要注意区别两者用法：

　　live：长期居住，如I live in an apartment./I live in Chengdu.

　　stay：短暂逗留，一般用于旅游、出差、拜访朋友等场合。如My mother will come to stay with me for a few days. /I stayed at my friend's house last night.

　　2.midnight

　　要注意没有in the midnight这个说法。

　　Midnight指一个很具体的时间--晚上12点钟。只有在说刚好在半夜12点钟发生/开始/结束的事情时才用at/from/until midnight.

　　the middle of the night表示一个时段，we can use 'in the middle of the night' / 'very late at night'来谈论从11pm—5am发生的事情。

　　很多考生在描述大半夜发生的事情时常常用混：

　　X He often watches TV shows until midnight.

　　√ He often watches TV shows until very late at night.

　　X I'm always disturbed by my neighbors in the midnight.

　　√ I'm always disturbed by my neighbors in the middle of the night.

　　3.touch

　　一般用来谈论有形的具体的实物，如："please don't touch the painting"（请勿触摸）

　　或表示被感动、被触动，如：I was touched bythe movie.

　　中国考生常常按它的中文意思来错用这个词，如：touch other cultures（正确用法为get to knowother cultures/learn aboutother cultures）/touch new opportunities（正确用法为takenew opportunities/findnew opportunities）/touch with friends on Wechat（正确用法为keep in touchwith friends on Wechat）

　　4.sports/exercise

　　Sports是雅思口语的基础高频话题，因此考生们要注意这两个词的区别

　　sports一般是指requiring physical exertion and competition有比赛双方、固定规则的体育运动，不是所有运动都是sports；

　　exercise指一些锻炼活动，比如瑜伽、健美、散步、跳舞等。

　　5.cultivate

　　一般指种植栽培植物、蔬菜和水果/培养陶冶某种意识等 ，如cultivate（=to grow）plants/vegetables/fruit

　　cultivate a sense of responsibility/belonging/ awareness

　　常见的错误表达如：cultivate children（"培养孩子"的正确用法为educate children/ teach children things/ raise children）/ cultivate pets（正确用法为breed animals/ raise/ look after/ take care of pets）

　　6. travel

　　大多数时候用作动词；当谈到兴趣时，你可以用它的名词形式：Travel is an interesting hobby.

　　常见的错误表达如：have a travel/ go on a travel

　　另外，英语中有一些很常用的表示旅行的名词，如vacation, holiday, trip，可以进行同义替换。

　　如：I will go on holiday/vacation to Thailand next year./We’re thinking of taking a trip to the mountains.

　　7. send

　　这个词不表示“送某人到某个地方”，而是指“派某人去”，如：I sent my boss to the airport./My boss sent me to Shanghai.

　　陪某人、送某人去someplace正确用法是：accompany/to take/to bring someone

　　如：I take my kids to school every morning./ I will bring my girlfriend to her apartment. /I accompanied my boss to the airport.

　　8. accompany

　　陪某人、和某人一起的常见的错误表达如：accompany with someone。常见错误: We need to spend more time accompanying with our parents./My friend accompanied with me to the hospital.

　　正确的用法是：accompany someone(如I accompanied my girlfriend to the shopping mall.)，但在日常口语中，一般说go with/come with someone
