1、error

4、blunder
指因为疏忽或愚笨而犯的大错,侧重应该受到责备。

5、slip
指较小的过错,强调出于无心或偶然。
It is just a slip of the tongue.
这只是口误而已。
6、faux pas
指违反习俗或礼节的举动或言语。
She was carefully instructed so that there was no danger of her making a faux pas.
她受过仔细的指点,不必担心她会失礼。
7、bull
指前言不搭后语,因而引人发笑的话。
She gave me some cock and bull story.
她给我讲了一些荒诞无稽的故事。
8、howler
指愚蠢可笑的错误,尤其指在朗读或考试时犯的学究式的错误
The report is full of howlers.
这份报告错漏百出。
9、boner
美国俚语,特指愚蠢的错误。
If you pull a boner like that again, you’re fired!
如果你再干那样的傻事,你就要被解雇了!
10、lapse
指小错,强调可以原谅,也可指行为或道德上的不检点。
His lapse of attention was forgivable.
他一时疏忽,情有可原。
