参加ACT考试，试卷上出现的第一个部分就是“English”，这一部分考察学生运用和理解英语的能力。

　　从考试形式上看，这部分更像是一篇篇难度不大的“阅读理解”。每次考试共有5篇“阅读理解”，每篇会有15处左右可能有问题或者不甚完美地方需要我们修改，一处一题；每次考试共75题。考试时间是45分钟。

　　从内容上看，这部分考试主要考察学生对英语掌握的2个方面：

　　一是以单词、单句为单位，考察学生基本的词汇能力（能否根据不同的语境区分近义词的使用、不啰嗦等）和语法应用能力（名词和动词、句子结构、句子个部分关系等）；
