项目介绍

University of Toronto National Biology Competition (U of T NBC)多大全国生物竞赛由多伦多大学主办，自 1995 年起，每年为中学生提供一个可以测试自己关于生物这门学科知识储备和理解能力的平台。至 2018 年，已经成功举办了 23 届。如今，University of Toronto National Biology Competition 已经成为 Canadian BiologyOlympiad（CBO）加拿大生物奥赛除 Skills Portfolio 实验技能外理论知识的唯一选拔标准，专为加拿大推举可以参与 International Biology Olympiad（IBO）际生物奥赛的优秀学生。对于想日后申请多伦多大学的学生来说，这项竞赛不仅仅是一个展示你学术水平争取奖学金的平台，也是让多大相关专业老师对你留下一次深刻印象的机会，为日后申请打好基础。

NBC 竞赛奖项

加拿大在校学生：

National Biology Scholars with Distinction：前 1%的加拿大学生

1st 第一名： $300 加币的奖金

2nd:第二名：$200 加币的奖金

3rd 第三名： $100 加币的奖金

the remaining 1%从第四名开始的剩余前 1%学生：每人可以获取$50 加币的奖金

National Biology Scholars：前 5%的加拿大学生

加拿大海外学生：

International Biology Scholars with Distinction：前 1%的国际生

U of T National Biology Competition Scholarships 多大全国生物竞赛奖学金：

颁发给所有参赛选手中前 15 名高分选手用来申请多大的 the Faculty of Arts &

Science 艺术与科学学院

奖学金额为$3,000 加币

奖学金的获取条件

学生在竞赛中的得分排名需在需在第 95 百分位（the 95th percentile）之前以且最后一年在校学术表现优异

注册申请多伦多大学艺术与科学学院(St. George)

获得讲学金资格的学生如果并不是高三生，可以推迟奖学金的使用

一个学生不管参赛和获奖次数，仅可获得一份奖学金

* 学生可以同时获取 NBC 奖学金及其他奖项，具体需参考奖金条款

高分可以增加学生获取多大奖项的机会，但低分不影响，且竞赛分数不作为多大入

学标准团体奖项：

参赛学生不少于 5 个人的学校可以参与竞争团体奖，总分为每所学校的前 5 位高分成绩的综合

Certificate of Excellence 卓越奖：前三所高分加拿大学校；前三所高分海外学校

U of T NBC 竞赛内容National Biology Competition 多大全国生物竞赛涵盖高中生所有生物课程，且竞赛内容可以体现各省中学生生物课程内相似的内容，其主要考试范围为：

General biochemistry 基础生物化学：basic chemical concepts, chemical bonds,biochemical reactions, biologically important organic molecules

Cell structure and processes 细胞结构和流程：cell structure and function,membrane structure, transport across membranes

Cell metabolism 细胞代谢：energy in the cell, enzymes, cellular respiration,photosynthesis, mitosis, cell cycle Genetics 遗传学：meiosis, sexual and

asexual reproduction, Mendelian inheritance, DNA, genes and chromosomes,protein synthesis, mutation, genetic disorders in humans, gene expression andmanipulation

Evolution 进化：historical context for evolutionary theory, evidence for evolution,population genetics, evolutionary mechanisms, adaptation, speciation,

extinction

Biological diversity 生物的多样性：taxonomy, phylogeny, origin of life, microbial,

fungal, plant, and animal diversity

Plant structure and function 植物的结构和功能：structure, growth, and

reproduction, transport mechanisms, growth regulators Vertebrate structure

and function 脊椎动物的结构和功能：digestion, circulation, gas-exchange,

reproduction, development, homeostasis, excretion, and nervous, endocrine,

and immune systems

Ecology 生态：species interactions, matter exchange and energy flow,

population dynamics, human ecology, conservation biology "Hot" biology topics

50 道选择题：由 departments of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Cell &

Systems Biology,多伦多大学生态与进化生物学及细胞与系统生物学系教员出卷准备

每道选择题有 5 个选项，其中仅一项为最佳答案

计分方式：总分 = 回答正确正确题目总数 - 回答错误题目的总数

未答题目不计分

不允许使用计算器

项目时间（以 2019 年时间作为参考）

竞赛注册开始时间：2019 年 1 月 21 日

竞赛注册截止时间：2019 年 3 月 8 日

竞赛时间：2019 年 4 月 25 日

申请要求

9-12 年级在校学生，包括 Quebec 魁北克省 CEGEP 第一年的学生等

学生注册前需要本校以为老师先行注册成为 Competition Coordinator

注册费$7

每所加拿大本土学校参赛学生不得少于 3 人，海外学校参赛学生不得少于 10 人

竞赛需在下午 1:00 至 3:00 之间开始，时长为 75 分钟

开考前，NBC 组委会提前一周发放试卷
