PTE语法教材：介词before和behind的用法

　　1．before的用法和例句：

　　1)在……前面：

　　We have a good day’s work before us．

　　我们还有一整天的工作要做。

　　He wanted to show off before her．

　　他想在她面前卖弄一下。

　　Pride comes before a fall．

　　骄傲就会摔交。(谚)

　　2)在……之前：

　　The darkest hour is before the dawn．

　　最黑暗的时刻过了就是黎明。(谚)

　　Before starting the work，they had a good discussion．

　　工作开始之前他们好好讨论了一次。

　　That happens in 400 B．C．(before Christ)．

　　这足公元前400年发生的。

　　3)用于某些成语：

　　Before long，their work began to show results．

　　不久他们的工作见成效了。

　　We got there before time．

　　我们提前到达那里。

　　They arrived the day before yesterday．

　　他们是前天到的。

　　2．behind用法和例句：

　　1)在……后面：

　　She stands behind the counter all day．

　　她整天站(在)柜台(后面)。

　　The garage is behind the house．

　　车库在房子后面。

　　There is an orchard behind the schoo1．

　　学校后面有一座果园。

　　2)比……晚：

　　The train is behind time．

　　火车晚点了。

　　You are an hour behind your appointed time．

　　你比约定的时间晚了一个钟头。

　　Father was behind time．

　　爸爸来晚了。

　　3)behind用于某些成语：

　　Don’t talk behind people’s backs．

　　不要在背后议论人。

　　He has been behind the scenes．

　　他一直在幕后操纵。

　　Sorry，but we’re behind the schedule．

　　对不起，我们落在计划后面了．

　　You are behind the times with your information．

　　你了解的情况都过时了。

　　You’re behind the times．

　　你落在时代后面了。
