PTE阅读长难句精讲练习（一）

　　很多同学在PTE备考时，都会选择一些课外读物来来提升阅读速度。但在这个过程中，我们也应该掌握一些正确的方法。在备考前期，我们不可因为泛读就降低对具体句子的理解，因为缺乏的就是对于长难句的理解能力。如果你跳过你还不能理解的句子，只读了已经能理解的句子，那么下次在考试中遇见同样的难句时，你依然读不懂。​​​​​​​

　　例1The three-stage life of full-time education, followed by continuouswork, and then complete retirement may have worked for our parents or even grandparents, but it is not relevant today.

　　句子成分

　　句子主干：The three-stage life…may have worked for our parents or even grandparents, but it is not relevant today。本句是but连接的并列句，其中介词短语of full-time education…and then complete retirement作后置定语，修饰the three-stage life，过去分词短语followed bycontinuouswork作伴随状语，修饰full-time education。

　　参考译文

　　接受全日制教育，紧跟着连续工作，然后完全退休，这样的三阶段生活可能适用于我们的父母甚至祖父母，但在如今并不相关。

　　句子主干：They cited a study…，presented…and their children动词的过去分词短语作后置定语，修饰study。in which引导的定语从句修饰限定parents andtheirchildren，该定语从句的主干是twice as many children as parents…rules on…，what引导的是宾语从句。
