ACT考试结构及时间要求

　　ACT阅读是ACT考试第三个部分，包含了40道题目，来自4篇不同题材的文章。这四篇文章的题材依次是小说、社科、人文、自科，考生需要在35分钟内完成这四篇文章。通常来说，每篇文章就是一篇长的文章，但是有时候(尤其是北美卷)会出现一篇文章是由两篇较短的文章构成的双篇文章。这种考法和SAT阅读里面的双篇综合考点相似，只不过ACT会告诉你哪些题目是考查双篇的。

　　ACT阅读的题型主要有六种：

　　主旨题 Main idea: What’s the main point or theme of the passage?

　　细节题 Detail: Given specific information from the text, explain the meaning and/or function.

　　段落发展题 Development: In what order are ideas arranged in the passage?

　　语境词汇题 Vocabulary: As used in passage, what does a word or phrase mean?

　　推断题 Implied Ideas: From what's written in the passage, what can you infer about the author or the subject?

　　语调题 Voice: What is the tone or style of the author?

　　在ACT阅读中取得高分绝对不仅仅是依靠阅读速度，如果是这样的话这个考试就该改名为“ACT阅读速度比赛”了。如果学生阅读量很大或者读得很快，在考试中会有些许优势，但是读得快绝对不是高分的保证。

　　如果你是一个读的很慢的人，你可能在读的时候就会同时想“好吧，我向来读的很慢，ACT阅读我肯定是做不完的，不如出门左拐去考SAT吧”。这样的判断也是错误的。
